![]() ComSerCo History ComSerCo Communications was founded in 1946 by Rex Slaughter under the name of Communications Service Company, in Riverside, California, and provided Two-Way Radio service to most of Southern California. On October 31, 1947, to service the equipment that Motorola sold factory direct to businesses in the region, Motorola appointed Mr. Slaughter as an Authorized Motorola Service Station. The business grew under Mr. Slaughter's leadership over the next 20 years and on May 23, 1968 was incorporated under the name of ComSerCo, Inc. The name ComSerCo is a contraction of Communications Service Company, which was a name that had already been taken in California, and could not be used again. Thus the new name ComSerCo, which would be confusing to our customers for years to come. On April 1, 1974 Mr. Slaughter retired and sold his shares in the company to a long-time employee, Charles G. Fuller, who became President and ran the company until April 1, 1982. When he retired he sold his shares to the present owner and President, Howard G. Newman Jr. ComSerCo up until 1975 operated from only one location in Riverside, California and provided service on Motorola equipment only. In 1975 ComSerCo purchased Commercial Radio Company in Indio, California and opened a shop in Westminster, California, expanding to three locations. In 1978 we opened an office in Victorville, California. In 1987 Motorola appointed ComSerCo a full line radio dealer, launching the company into sales. ComSerCo presently serves customers in five counties of Southern California: Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino. ComSerCo presently has 62 employees, who provide our customers with high quality, one-stop sales and service capabilities throughout our service area. Howard Newman
