GPS/Automatic Vehicle Location System

Geo-Status™  was developed by CES Wireless to allow for certain “location based” statuses to be automated.  (i.e. at plant, leave plant, on job, leave job)  The MDT’s (mobile data terminal) are programmed with the geographical coordinates for the various fixed locations. The MDT monitors the GPS samples and looks for a match to the plant zones/job ticket zone stored.  Once the MDT acknowledges its presence in a particular zone the MDT automatically reports this specific and unique status to the Dispatch Center. Entry and exit is reported.

· Some clients use this feature to avoid excessive GPS “Interval Sampling”.  (i.e. If your getting the accuracy of geo-Status™  on your “critical” statuses (i.e. at plant, leave plant, on job, leave job) you don’t need the “every 5 min.” GPS sample to track activity in between the “GEO zones”.  Also, it takes “human factor” out of the data accuracy equation regarding “location based” statuses.

· Taking this one step further, using CES Wireless Technologies advanced “Status Grid” the end user can filter information beyond the basic Statuses being sent. (i.e. Status pressed “At Plant” driver enters “1” to represent Eastside Plant (displayed on the screen is a list of the plants available for the driver to chose from)) The Dispatcher can have the Status Grid setup with a column for each “fixed location”, instead of just one column for say “at plant”.  The benefit is obvious, with a glance to the status grid the dispatcher can tell which plant each truck is located at.  With other status grids the dispatcher would be limited to just knowing the trucks were in one of their plants.

· This gives the Dispatcher a “quick glance” capability with the Status Grid.  Thus, making a faster, more efficient decision on the plant activity.
