ComSerCo Deliverables 1. ComSerCo will receive,
inventory and consolidate the equipment at our Riverside facility to insure
that all components of the system have been accounted for and are received
in good order.
Little Mountain Site (infrastructure) Install a four (4) channel Motorola 450 Mhz. Trunking System with transmit combiner, receiver multicoupler and transmit/receive antenna (Class A install). Program, optimize and test system operation. Note:
ComSerCo will provide an emergency battery back-up system for the infrastructure that will provided approximately 5 hours of operation in the event of a power failure. This figure will vary depending on the amount of radio traffic during the power outage. Generator power is a preferred method for long term emergency power back-up, but would be cost prohibitive for either ComSerCo or the district to provide. We recommend the District contact the County of San Bernardino (the site owner) with regard to this issue. Trapp School Replace the existing back-up repeater located at Trapp Elementary school with a Motorola MTR2000 Conventional Repeater for use by the District in the event that the Little Mountain site fails. Activating the MTR2000 will allow the District to operate in the same manner as present, a single channel shared by all departments. ComSerCo will provide an emergency battery back-up system at this site that will provide approximately 5 hours of operation in the event of a power failure. Provide the ability to activate this repeater remotely in the event of a complete failure at the Little Mountain site. Once again, generator power is recommended for extended back-up operation. Transportation Dispatch and M/O Office Install one (1) Base Station Radio along with two (4) Local Control Desksets for GPS/AVL operation by the Transportation Department dispatch personnel. Install two (2) PowerTrac Work Stations and one (1) Server for GPS/AVL operation by Transportation Department dispatch personnel. Program, optimize and test the system. Install one (1) Base Station Radio in the M/O office and four (4) Local Control Desksets (to replace the existing base and four desksets). Install one (1) Base Station Radio in the Superintendents office and one (1) Local Control Deskset (to replace the existing base and Deskset). All Base Station antennas will be mounted on the office roofs. (Single story wood frame building). Mobile Equipment Install Motorola CDM1550
Portable Equipment Program all HT1550-XLS and HT-1250-LS Portables according to a pre-determined list of Departments,
Removal of old Equipment Once testing and optimization of the system has been achieved and accepted by the District, the old 800 Mhz radio equipment (District vehicles, Little Mountain site, transportation dispatch, M/O office and Trapp school) will be removed and delivered to the Maintenance/Operations Facility. Access The ComSerCo implementation process will require access to installation and operational areas on a Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 PM basis. Access requirements outside the above standard period will be communicated to the customer. Similarly, any request to restrict the standard work period should be communicated to ComSerCo. Radio Programming The new trunking radio system will be programmed to allow the District to operate on five separate and private channels - or Talkgroups. Column one describes the department name for the Talkgroup and Column two describes the name that will be displayed on the LCD read-out located on the front of each radio. Talkgroups Display Name 1. Priority Channel
Priority 1
The Priority Channel (Talkgroup 1) is to be used only during an Emergency, and only when so designated by the Superintendent of Schools. When this Talkgroup is activated, all radios in the District will automatically revert to the Priority Channel, Talkgroup 1. School Sites Each individual school site will have portable radios (HT-1250 LS+) that will be programmed as above, giving them the capability to communicate on any of the Districts fiveTalkgroups when needed. However, each individual school site will also have a sixth channel, unique to their site that will be used for day to day operations on campus, just as it is done at present. It is important that the individual school sites do not use the first fiveTalkgroups for on-campus communications as this will create congestion. We suggest that any District-wide communications that are required by an individual campus be carried out on the Off Campus Talkgroup. Maint.-Ops / Security / Transportation Each Department will have portable radios (HT-1550 LS) that will be programmed as above, giving them the capability to communicate on any of the Districts fiveTalkgroups when needed. Each Department will carry out their own day to day operations on their private Talkgroup without interfering with other the Departments. These radios will also include the individual channels of each campus in the District, thereby allowing Department personnel to communicate with each school site while on campus. A list of all Departments
and school sites along with channel/Talkgroup assignments and display names
is included herein.
